Christmas comes early for Strathclyde

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport British ...

ScotRail has the perfect present for customers in Strathclyde– extra trains every Sunday right up to 20 December.

The additional services – from Sunday 29 November – will give customers more opportunities to do some Christmas shopping or simply enjoy a festive day out.

With more trains on offer, as well as great value for money fares like Kids Go Free tickets*, there is even more reason to head for town by train.

Graeme Macfarlan, ScotRail’s marketing manager, said: “Our extra Sunday services help meet the demand from Christmas shoppers and provide an ideal opportunity to leave the car at home.

“With no parking hassles and a choice of fares, taking the train is the perfect way for customers to take advantage of everything on offer in the city centre this Christmas.”

On arrival in the heart of Glasgow, customers can enjoy cafes and restaurants in the city’s ‘Style Mile’, indulge in fabulous festive shopping and go skating in the iconic George Square.

Special trains will operate on routes to Glasgow that normally do not have Sunday services – from Anniesland via Maryhill, Paisley Canal, Springburn via Alexandra Parade, and Shotts and Whifflet.

Additional Sunday services will operate on routes from Airdrie and Dalmuir, via both Yoker and Singer; Ayr, Cumbernauld, Croy and Gourock – providing increased frequency of service.
