I am looking for the cheap and the best way to get from London to Cardiff, Wales. I’d also like to know the price of the bus and the train ticket.

There are services that run from Cardiff to London and back again on coaches they are Fun Bus and Mega Bus prices start from £1. They go I believe from Victoria bus station in London and end in central station (or there abouts it is undergoing a major revamp) in Cardiff.
I belive the journey takes about four hours – the earlier you book the cheaper the fare – afternoon fares are generally cheaper as are early morning journeys.

Cross referencing your Fontygary question:
If you’re coming by bus, use National Express. Megabus don’t go to the Central Bus Station (they terminate in the City Centre, 10 minutes walk away).
Journey time is just under 3Hours 30minutes, from Victoria. I use the service regularly, and it is good (if any coach journey is “good”!)
National Express terminate at the station where there are bus (and now rail) connections to Rhoose.

Alternatively, Great Western Services to Cardiff run from Paddington. If you book early, they’re still more expensive than coach, but quicker (2 hours 20 on average). You can get prices from

Train from London Paddington is the fastest and most comfortable. They run every 30 minutes on weekdays and hourly at weekends and the journey takes 2 hours 6 minutes. Book as far ahead as possible for the lowest fares. http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk or go to the ticket office at Paddington Station.
