There’s no website or airline that will ALWAYS be the “cheapest”. Everyone has a different opinion on what’s “cheap”…..That’s why you have to shop around every time you book ANY travel.
1) Try to be flexible on your dates and times. If you can drive a short distance to a “less” busy airport, that might help save some money.
2) Try to book your flight early am or late pm, that can sometimes save money. Weekdays are usually cheaper than weekends.
3) But don’t limit your search to ONLY those “well-known” travel sites (most are owned by the same company) which means not much difference in the price. They make you think you’re stuck with that price! So,be sure to check other travel sites; otherwise you might miss out on a great deal!
Think of these travel sites like grocery stores, they all “sell” the same thing. So, why pay more for the same flight those other guys are selling?

There is no secret, magic website with the “cheapest” airfares. You have to do the research, and be as flexible as possible regarding travel dates.

Check the travel sites (airgorilla, expedia, priceline, travelocity, etc.) and also check the airline websites. I have often (not always, but often) found the best fares on the airline websites. Remember to check airlines like JetBlue and Southwest that do not use the travel sites.

Check with a real travel agent to ask about promotional fares and special deals.

If you also need a hotel or rental car, check the cost of combining the purchases in a package. For example, I found a deal with airfare + hotel in Hawaii for a week that was only $100 more than just the airfare.

When traveling to far destinations check the prices when you split the ticket. For example, searching “Chicago to Nairobi” (all on one ticket) MAY cost much more than searching “Chicago to London” and then “London to Nairobi”. If that turns out to be the case, talk to a real travel agent about getting the better fare all on one ticket.

From where? I guess from the US. Start browsing airlines which go to Honduras like Copa or Taca. However I have to tell you that December is the most expensive season and it doesnt matter when you buy the ticket, Christmas season is always busy and expensive so the quickest you buy the ticket the better.

I have the same problem. I’m going to London from Michigan around the same time you are going. Try www.bookingbuddy.com as they tend to have alot of good deals. I also went to Airfare Watchdog and signed up for their updates and they will email all of the best deals on the internet for where you want to go. Its actually really cool. I also check www.cheapflights.com alot. There’s also a site called Skyline Travel Auction where you can name your own price on tickets kind of like ebay for plaintickets. I’ll give you the links.
