Southern and Gatwick Express go 24 hours – for now

East Croydon Gatwick Express

Now that flights have been resumed at Gatwick Airport, we are expecting that there will be a large influx of passengers overnight tonight, Thursday 22nd/23rd  April. To help people with their onward journeys, Southern and Gatwick Express services will be running through the night.

Southern trains will be running hourly between Gatwick and Brighton

Extra Gatwick Express trains will depart from Victoria every 30 minutes.

From Gatwick Airport Station, trains will also depart every 30 minutes.

Chris Burchell, Southern’s managing director, said: “We have been working closely with the airport to ensure there is a regular service for all passengers needing to get home when they arrive at the airport.

“People who have parked their car at Gatwick Airport and managed to return to the UK via alternative travel arrangements will also require a regular service to and from the airport.”

There will be many passengers who have been unable to travel on the days they planned since the flight disruption started.

Until Wednesday 28th April all tickets which were originally valid for travel to or from Gatwick Airport from Thursday 15th April onwards will be accepted for travel on Southern and Gatwick Express where passengers have experienced flight delays.
