Train times from London to Manchester on a Monday start at 06.17 from London Euston arriving Manchester Picadilly at 08.28. After that there is the 06.36 arriving 08.49 and then the 06.55 arriving 09.07. There is then the 07.20 and the 07.35 arriving 09.28 and 09.45 respectively. Then from 8am the trains run every 20minute with the journey taking approximately 2hours and 10minutes.

By booking in advance you can get the 06.36 train from London Euston for just £28 standard or £56 first class and return the same day on the 17.15 train for £33.05 (off-peak) standard £76 first class.

It certainly pays to book in advance and to be specific about the train you want to travel on, as booking an anytime ticket would cost you £123 each way in standard or £193 each way in first. That’s a massive saving of £190.95 in standard and £254 in first class.

You can take advantage of these cheap tickets even by booking just a couple of weeks ahead of your journey date. But, even if you can’t do that it is definitely worth buying your ticket in advance of your journey – even if it’s only by one day.
